Eating out: even if you are renting an apt at la Giudecca, try local restaurants and bars at least once. A wide variety in prices and venues. From top (Cipriani, Harry's Dolci) to very cheap meal, you have a range of possibilities depending on your budget. Try what attracts you: but have a look at the prices in advance, so that the bill does not embarass you. If you want a cheap pizza, try Ostello delle Zitelle.
One of the "must" is "Harry's Dolci", Giudecca 773 - Fermata Palanca. Tel. (+39) 0415224844, 0415208337; fax 041.5222322Closed on monday afternoon-evening and Tuesday all day. The restaurant is closed in autumn-winter (except for booke parties) and it uses to reopen in early April. If you can't afford a complete meal, a cup of espresso coffee and some pastry will make your memory sweeter. Great view on the Zattere. The place sells (expensive) pasta packages. Arrigo Cipriani's cookbook is an interesting souvenir and a nice present: you can buy it also online clicking here: Harry's Bar Cookbook

"Altanella" in Calle delle Erbe - Giudecca 270, is a typical yet stylish Venetian restaurant. Four generations of chefs gave a special Venetian flavour to this charming little restaurant with nice terrace on a canal. Bookings (+39) 3408798327. Disembark from the ACTV boat at Palanca.
